スネークウッドは、名前の通り蛇の皮のような木目の珍しい木で、超高級木材として知られています。
割れやすく、加工が難しそうですが、独特の木目と重量感が魅力的でいつか電鍵の台座に使ってみたいと思っています。定期的にオークションをチェックしているのですが、極めて入手が難しく、自分の目的に適うものは手元に小さめのものが一つだけあります。もう少し製作技術が上がれば、慎重に加工して、是非とも不思議なキーに仕上げたいと思っています。
Snakewood, as the name suggests, is a rare wood with a grain like snake skin, and is known as a super-premium wood. It is easy to split and seems to be difficult to process, but its unique grain and weight are so attractive that I would like to use it someday for the base of a morse key.
I regularly check auctions, but they are extremely difficult to find, and I have only one small one on hand that suits my purpose. Once my fabrication skills improve a bit more, I would very much like to carefully process it and make it into a magical morse key.
